Spring is Just Around the Corner....

Spring has started to emerge in the Treasure Valley. From the crocus flowers starting to bloom, the songs of the birds in the morning, and the erratic temperature fluctuations we all know what is soon to come. Spring, and that means golf season! Here are some tips to make sure you are all set to hit the links.

  1. Start putting. What a great way to get in some practice and mindset by setting up a small putting area in your office or living room. No need to hit the greens feeling rusty this year.

  2. Check the grips on your clubs. Sometimes in extreme temperatures, golf club grips can become damaged. They will get dry and crack or even start peeling off from the cold. Or if they get too hot they can become sticky and tacky. Inspect your grips and clean or replace them if necessary.

  3. Strengthen your core muscles. Protect your back this season by making sure your core is strong and your back is stretched out. Nothing worse than a preventable injury to take you out of the game for a season.

  4. Shoes, how are yours fitting? How many miles do they have on them? While you are at it, check your gloves too. Any spots that are starting to pill or smell? Perhaps it’s time to take a trip to the pro-shop.

  5. Stock up. Check the pockets of your golf bag to make sure you are stocked up in balls, tees, a towel, sunscreen, a hat, ball marker, chapstick, and maybe some cash for tipping your caddy, cart driver, or bartender.

Spring is almost here and that means outdoor fun! Make sure you are ready to get out on the course. Prepare now so you don’t have to scramble later.
